Description

Schiedmayer Pianofortefabrik Stuttgart – Model O, built in 1905. An exceptional piano from one of Europe's most traditional piano-making dynasties. The Model O from the Schiedmayer Pianofortefabrik Stuttgart, awarded the Grand Prix Paris 1900, combines the craftsmanship precision of the pre-war era with a warm, resonant sound that modern instruments can hardly offer anymore. The solid oak case impresses with its finely carved Art Nouveau panels and the curved lines of that era. In meticulous, lengthy work, the instrument was rebuilt from the ground up – not a cosmetic intervention, but an uncompromising general overhaul of the entire substance: Soundboard repaired and re-shimmed. Pinblock replaced with a new multiplex pinblock. Bridges replaced with new double bridges and cleanly re-notched. Stringing with Röslau-Blau steel wire and a custom-made Heller bass. Action completely repaired with new parts and re-regulated. Hammers and dampers new, covered with special organic felt to capture the characteristic sound of the pre-war era. Keyboard with original natural covering, completely re-balanced – the lead replaced by brass (CKM). A valid CITES certificate for the key covering is available. Case completely re-stained and lacquered. For permanent protection against climatic influences, a Piano Life Saver System was installed, which will reliably keep the soundboard and action stable over the coming decades. Countless other details have been optimized, adjusted, and lovingly worked on. However, the best way to experience this is not to describe it, but to experience it: You are welcome to come by, listen, and feel for yourself what distinguishes this instrument.
