About Us

StimmNagel – Master Piano and Harpsichord Maker Jan Nagel. Piano making runs in my family: my ancestor Gerhard Ludwig Nagel founded the G. L. Nagel Pianofortefabrik in Heilbronn in 1818, which built instruments for over 120 years. As the fifth generation, I am continuing this tradition today with StimmNagel. StimmNagel stands for meticulous service for pianos, grand pianos, and harpsichords in Lower Bavaria. My work focuses on tuning, regulating, and voicing, as well as repairs and maintenance of your instrument, so that it sounds and plays as it should. I learned my craft at Steinway & Sons in Hamburg and have continuously deepened it through further training at Bechstein, Bösendorfer, and other renowned manufacturers. A special focus is on the installation and maintenance of silent systems. This allows you to play your acoustic instrument quietly via headphones without sacrificing touch and playing feel. Every now and then, I offer selected, exclusive instruments for sale. These are not stock items, but unique pieces that have inspired me personally and to which I dedicate time and devotion. When an instrument captures me, I bring it to its best form. What you find with me is therefore always a personal choice. You are welcome to visit me in my showroom and workshop at Stadtplatz 30 in Bogen. Since I am often out with customers, it is best to make an appointment in advance, then I will certainly be there for you.
