Description

Some instruments have a soul. This Blüthner is one of them. Built in 1935 in Leipzig, when Blüthner was still at the height of its craftsmanship — and today, after a comprehensive general overhaul by a master piano maker, it sounds and plays better than ever. An instrument in this condition is a true rarity — anyone looking for an extraordinary piano will not often find something like this. The action has been completely overhauled and offers a playability that one usually only knows from instruments fresh from the factory — feather-light, precise, and absolutely balanced. The sound has been perfectly developed through elaborate, special voicing: the famous warm, singing Blüthner sound in its most beautiful form, romantic and expressive down to the last nuance. Anyone who plays it once will not want to stop. What has been done? This instrument has been renewed from the ground up — not restored, but truly rebuilt: • Soundboard shimmed and cleaned • New strings • New tuning pins • New hammers — re-felted with high-quality organic felt • New dampers • New key coverings • Case repainted I am currently toying with the idea of giving the piano a case in dusty pink; you can see the picture below! :)
