Origin: The instrument comes from Freiburg. It is a family piano that has been cherished and maintained throughout its life, but due to a house sale it has been passed on to us. Some time ago, it was fully restored by the local master workshop. The work was carried out with a precision rarely found today. Work carried out: During the restoration in Freiburg, the action was completely overhauled with new hammerheads and damping felts. All wear parts were apparently replaced. The acoustic system was also fully restored. New tuning pins, new stringing, and the soundboard were installed and refinished. As the piano had not been played for some time, we performed the necessary adjustments to the action. Description: Pre-war Blüthner pianos are known for their particularly beautiful tone. However, these often still feature the now obsolete upper-damping mechanism. This Blüthner piano is one of the few pre-war instruments that already has the modern lower-damping mechanism, so the touch is essentially like that of a modern piano. The action is balanced and relatively light. The tone resembles that of a grand piano. The basses are powerful, and the highest treble notes sparkle pleasantly. Surface / Design: The piano looks elegant, although the surface was not treated during the restoration and therefore shows natural patina.
